361º DVD 3 ‘824’

This might be one of my favorite basketball shoes I’ve tested all year — and no one’s talking about them. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the 361° DVD 3 in the ‘824’ colorway, a clear tribute to Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA guard Spencer Dinwiddie, who played for the Lakers before returning to Dallas, has had a major role in designing the 361° DVD series. This model draws direct inspiration from a sleek, high-performance sports car — which explains the purple, gold, and white color scheme.

Design & Fit

The DVD 3 fits true to size. Wide footers may also find it comfortable at TTS. Initially, the shoe feels stiff. However, after a few runs, it breaks in beautifully.

Lockdown is solid, thanks to a synthetic snake-skin toe box and heel counter — another subtle nod to Kobe. A breathable midfoot bootie tongue keeps airflow steady during play. On both sides, thin synthetic panels improve containment and flex. The visible external TPU heel counter adds durability and stability.

Performance & Cushioning

Where this shoe really shines is underfoot. The midsole combines ENRG-X foam in the forefoot with QU!KCQTECH foam in the heel. This setup offers a low-to-the-ground feel while maintaining responsive cushioning. Even during fast breaks, your foot doesn’t sink — instead, it stays agile and controlled.

After breaking in, the cushion setup felt extremely shock-absorbing yet kept performance sharp. The double-stacked TPU plate enhances torsional support and rigidity — something I’ve rarely seen done this well.

Traction & Court Grip

The Tetris-style hard rubber outsole delivers excellent traction. Whether you’re playing indoors or outdoors, these will grip the floor and support quick cuts. I’d confidently recommend these for outdoor hoopers as well.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I had an amazing time playing in the 361° DVD 3 ‘824’. They look sharp, perform even better, and kept my legs feeling fresh after multiple sessions. Spencer Dinwiddie and the 361° team really nailed the design and functionality of this pair.
