A New Balance 1906L “Raincloud” Is Coming

It has been several months since Junya Watanabe MAN shook up the sneaker scene with the unveiling of its sneaker loafer collaboration with New Balance. Shortly thereafter, the silhouette was revealed to be named the 1906L, converting the hit 1906 silhouette into loafer form, as a bright all-green look hit the net ahead of “Grey/Silver” and “Brown/Navy” pairs that sport more traditional New Balance color arrangements. As anticipation continued to build around the divisive new sneaker, we sat down with the team that dreamed up the design to discuss how it came to life.

Now, the latest look to adorn the 1906L sees a gray “Raincloud” cast across the shoe. Appearing in a look similar to the aforementioned “Grey/Silver,” the pair begins with a mixed material loafer-inspired upper that is covered in its signature gray shade. A small “N” logo rests at the tongue while a “1906L” note can be spotted at the lateral heel. From there, white and a darker gray connect at the midsole with black backing the sneaker at its rubber outsole.

At the time of writing, New Balance has yet to announce when its new 1906L sneaker loafer will be making its debut on shelves. Stay tuned for updates, including specific details regarding this “Raincloud” colorway, as the new silhouette is currently rumored to arrive this fall via New Balance and select retailers worldwide.
