adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are in the third decade of their partnership and are responsible for some of sportswear’s most unique looks, from beloved tech sneakers like the Y-3 Qasa to kits for the Japan Football Association. As new arrivals continue to appear for Fall/Winter 2024, the duo are back to introduce the Y-3 KYASU OVERBOOT.
Revealed during Y-3’s FW24 presentation back in January, the Y-3 KYASU OVERBOOT takes FW23’s KYASU sneaker, converts it into a mule and then places it in a shell that is shaped as a high-cut leather boot. The unique design appears in a higher cut in women’s sizing, with both sporting a platform sole, a zipper system that allows for removal of the mule and an all-black finish that covers both the mule and boot. Co-branding is also included with Yamamoto’s signature at the lateral heel of the boot and the Three Stripes reaching across the boot’s medial.
For those interested in picking up the Y-3 KYASU OVERBOOT in either style, it is available now via adidas and select retailers at a price of $750 USD each. However, be sure to act fast as many sizes have sold out already.
