With Kobe Bryant’s historic basketball career ending yesterday, April 13, scoring 60 points in a win, today a new tribute to the Black Mamba is showcased in the form of this Nike Kobe 11 Muse Pack.

Essentially connected with the Swoosh’s iconic design pioneers such as President & CEO Mark Parker, Eric Avar and Tinker Hatfield, the range includes three corresponding pairs that honors Bryant, which dates back to the Huarache 2K4 — the first sneaker he wore after signing with Nike in 2003 and eventually leading to his own signature line.

Featured first consists of the “Avar Muse” aka “Brave Blue” colorway, which takes cues on the Yosemite National Park’s “El Capitan” rock formation. The model’s blue hues represent the sky and water seen from the California summit, while the taupe collar lining and outsole mimic the textured granite formation.

Finished off with boot laces as a nod to the outdoors and hiking, the model is now available at select retail locations in limited quantities for $200.

Stay tuned in to KicksOnFire for release details on the upcoming Tinker Hatfield (black/red) and Mark Parker (black/blue) pairs.

Author’s Take

It’s a cool tribute and I’m liking the overall colorways. Out of the three, I’d have to side with Avar, then Hatfield.
