CLOT and A BATHING APE are reigniting their longtime partnership with the release of two exclusive BAPESTA sneakers — “Trial Camo” and “Digital Camo” — set to headline in their upcoming capsule collection. The release brings together signature visual languages from both brands: BAPE’s iconic camouflage and CLOT’s cult Alienegra pattern, first introduced in 2005 by Edison Chen, MADSAKI, and Kazuki Kuraishi.
Both pairs feature BAPE’s classic BAPESTA silhouette, adorned with white midsoles, lace detailing, and co-branded tongue tags. The bold fusion of patterns creates a visual layering effect — with CLOT’s Alienegra pasted over the camo design with tonal colors — giving each shoe a distinct identity while maintaining a cohesive design language.
The “Trial Camo” pair opts for a monochrome Black/Grey-White palette. The subdued tone allows for textural depth as well as offering it a stealthy, versatile look with visual bite.
In contrast, the “Digital Camo” version brings energy and edge. The upper is covered in pixelated Green/White camo, , enhancing the digital aesthetic and creating a sense of motion and depth across the surface.
Key design details remain consistent across both pairs, reinforcing the unity of the collaboration. Split branding appears on the tongue tags and metallic lace dubraes, with the BAPE logo on the left shoe and the CLOT logo on the right. Emblematic heel logos continue the dual narrative, with one shoe reading “CLOT STA” and the other “BAPESTA,” symbolically merging the two brand identities. Clean white star logos on the sidewalls, paired with matching white midsoles, serve as a crisp visual anchor that grounds the otherwise intricate and layered designs.
This dual drop marks not just a design collaboration — but a cultural reconnection between two of Asia’s most influential streetwear forces. Both pairs are scheduled to release on July 26.
