Engineered Garments has put a hybrid spin on Reebok‘s retro Instapump Fury 94, infusing classic British Brogue shoe details into the technical silhouette. Tying futuristic design back with elevated craftsmanship, the NYC-based design studio’s take on the hybrid footwear takes the trend beyond loafer styles and low-cut base models.
From afar the monochromatic design may read as minimal, but up close the deconstructed Brogue details come to life. Along the edges of the overlays the textured leather edges call attention to the perforated adornments. Arriving in a duo of tan suede and smooth black leather, the collaborators offer a classic palette inspired by traditional men’s footwear. The tan colorway stands out, contrasting the hairy suede textures with smooth leather accents. Reebok emblems appear on the tongue as well as enlarged below the heel tab. Reebok maintains the usual technical sole for the Instapump Fury 94, instead of switching it out for a dress shoe sole. The slightly elevated heel and the carbon fiber arch detail imbue to the style with an edgy appeal.
