Update: It’s been over 16 months since word of an Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined” releasing in 2024 first popped up and we finally have a first look at the pair. While the first three images (depicted below in the embedded Instagram post) are limited in detail, they confirm many key points. Unlike the mock-up shown above, the upper’s material composition looks to stick to a typical smooth leather build. The color blocking of the “Black Toe” colorway remains in tact with white at the base, black at the forefoot’s overlays, Swooshes and the collar’s base and red chiming in at the heel’s overlays. Though its most prominent detail that sets it apart from its predecessors is the “AIR JORDAN” branding at the lateral collar and a special note at the medial collar. The former references promotional imagery of Jordan from 1984 where this “AIR JORDAN” hit was visible whereas the latter recounts Jordan gifting a signed pair to a friend during his rookie season, including a note at the medial collar that here reads “My Very Best Michael Jordan.” Release is expected to take place on October 18 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $180 USD. Stay tuned for additional imagery of the kicks and revisit our initial breakdown below for more info.

Original Story: Rumors around a reimagined iteration of the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” have been swirling for over a year, and now, in the waning days of 2023, we’ve gotten yet another update on the forthcoming style. Per a report from reputable sneaker leaker @zsneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined” will now be touching down as part of Jordan Brand’s holiday 2024 Air Jordan retro collection.
If the “Black Toe Reimagined” is indeed released as part of the Jumpman’s Holiday 2024 roster, it’ll mark the third year in a row that a “Reimagined” take on an original Air Jordan 1 colorway hit shelves. The Air Jordan 1 “Lost and Found,” a faux-aged reinterpretation of the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” debuted in 2022 to great fanfare, and 2023’s Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined” swapped out the leather construction used on the original Air Jordan 1 “Royal” for suede to decidedly more mixed results.
There’s currently no telling how the “Black Toe Reimagined” will be altered — the above photo is merely a color-flipped mockup that used the embellishments of the “Lost and Found” as a base — but Jordan Brand has shown an increased willingness to play with material composition in its forthcoming 2024 lineup, as indicated by shoes like the Air Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined,” a new version of the OG Air Jordan 4 “Bred” that swaps out nubuck for leather.
Pricing information and an exact release date have yet to be revealed, but more info will likely surface in 2024 so stay tuned for updates as they’re made available.
