In late 2015 we were hit with the news that the Air Jordan 1 High OG Banned was going to be making a return in 2016.

Today we get a look at what is believed to be a first leaked image of the Air Jordan 1 that features a red and black leather upper with a contrasting white midsole and a red outsole. As you can see the sneaker does come with the OG Nike Air branding on the tongue but from this lone image it’s pretty hard to tell if the “X” has been placed on the heel like it was on the 2011 Banned release. Whether this will be known as the Banned or Bred colorway is still unclear, but we’ll keep you updated here at Kicks On Fire.

This Air Jordan 1 is scheduled to release during Labor Day Weekend on September 3rd for $160. Make sure to bookmark our Air Jordan 1 High OG Banned launch page to stay updated with the latest images, release information and other important updates.

Author’s Take

Whether this is the Banned or Bred release doesn’t matter too much to me. I would just love to add a pair to my collection because I’ve always wanted this colorway of the Air Jordan 1.
