Check out the Nike Air Max Mercurial ’98 FC. Does it look familiar to you? If you Air Max game is on point, you might figure out where this new model derived from. Considered to be a hybrid sneaker, let’s get a closer look at the shoe.

If you play close attention to all the integral parts of the shoe, you will notice that the shoe combines the original Mercurial cleat with Air Max cushioning and puts some Hyperfuse construction on it. The first colorway that has dropped has the shoe rock a color scheme consisting of Deep Royal Blue and Black. The dark look of the shoe is broken up by adding hits of white on the sole unit, and throughout the reflective stripes on the upper. Available internationally, we will let you know if and when these drop stateside.

Author’s Take

Hybrid or not, it’s a good looking sneaker. The Mercurial cleat with Air Max cushioning is a good look. The colorway is even nice. I can dig it.
