As year-end lists recapping what went down in the sneaker industry last year popped up in December, one of the shoes that stood out as a fan favorite was the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder. Between its unique presentation and rich storytelling, the project clearly resonated with many. Now, after both colorways dropped to close out 2024, we have a look at a third “Concrete Sky” pair.
While it has not been made clear as to whether this is merely a sample of a pair the duo opted not to put into production or if it’s a teaser of what’s to come later this year, it’s an exciting reveal nonetheless. It notably sports a gradient not at the upper’s base, but at the unique gridlines that the two applied to the sneaker, shifting from light to dark blue. An “Olive Grey” base is joined by yellow at the lateral heel’s small Swoosh, violet appears at the heel tab and black covers the sole unit.
At the time of writing, neither Kids of Immigrants nor Nike have indicated whether or not the duo will return to the Air Max Sunder this year. Stay tuned for updates, including a better look at this “Concrete Sky” pair, as it may end up releasing via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at the same $190 USD price point of its predecessors.
