In 1998, Nike and Jordan Brand introduced the Trunner, a while hybrid sneaker that is part trainer and part runner. The model has become a cult classic, and is making a comeback this year along with a new version the Trunner OS, releasing this Fall.
Jordan Brand has been quietly prepping for the return of their Trunner silhouette this year, teasing new styles of the classic LX version at All-Star Weekend. However, around the same time in February, new leaks gave us an early look at a modernized version of the fan-favorite hybrid sneaker, dubbed the Trunner OS. Since then, information regarding the new silhouette has been scarce, until in-hand images of a new sample style surfaced today.
The newly modernized Jordan Trunner takes a step away from the wild design of the original model, and leans more into the popular trend of retro running shoes. Featuring a simple mesh base with suede overlays and a TPU cage, the shoe has been compared to New Balance models like the 990v6, and they are not wrong. Seen here in an “Archaeo Brown” palette, the look features a Persian Violet base with light brown suede, darker Earth brown soles, and pale Aluminum blue laces.
