MASTERMIND JAPAN 1
MASTERMIND JAPAN 2

Vans is linking up with mastermind Japan once again after the two last collaborated in 2011.

The Japanese streetwear label once again gets its hands on the popular Sk8-Hi silhouette and covers it with a black leather upper with a zipper by the ankle/heel. White detailing then appears on the midsole, laces, branding stripes and tongue branding. There will also be a low-top Vans silhouette included in the collection which will feature Vans’ black and white checkerboard pattern on the translucent outsole. There is no exact release date yet but you can check out the 2011 vs the 2016 Sk8-Hi pairs above as well as the outsole of the low-top pair.

Author’s Take

The Sk8-Hi is one of my favorite silhouettes from Vans so it’s always cool to see them release a new collaboration. However I’m not really a fan of this all-black look.
