New York-based collective MSCHF has continuously sparked viral moments with its creative and oftentimes rulebreaking projects. The past few months alone have seen unheard of releases such as the sale of 1,000 keys for a shared mystery car that has traversed the United States and a sneaker designed to look like a walking boot. In its latest work, the MSCHF team revisits its Gobstomper shoe that debuted earlier this year with a “Jimmy Fallon Edition” as it now takes on a sour taste.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Gobstopper hard candy, MSCHF’s Gobstomper is similarly packed with layers. Its “Sour Edition” begins with a primarily black presentation, featuring accents in neon green, purple and yellow. However, as the layers wear away, its true colors show, revealing the accent colors throughout. Additional MSCHF touches begin with the return of their triple exclamation point logo at the tongues, foot logo at the heel tab and in a hangtag form and “MSCHF” at the heel of the midsole.
Release for the MSCHF Gobstomper “Sour Edition” takes place December 6 exclusively via the MSCHF Sneakers app via a drawing at a price of $195 USD.
