The model’s energetic essence carries over into its aesthetic features, as it comes in a variety of high-octane color options. “I loved how the volt colorway looked on me, but the summit white/bright crimson colorway goes so crazy!” Sabino shared. Chavez echoed the idea that apparel and running gear can help you power through a run, sharing, “I love fashion just as much as I love being active. If I look good, I feel good and if I feel good I’m a better version of myself.”

After suiting up in Nike gear and the Pegasus 41, the two embarked on their journeys, starting with warm-ups. Sabino always takes a moment of self-reflection before a run to center his mind, while Chavez gives herself a pre-run pep talk and dedicates herself to improving personal records.

On top of the model’s innovative ReactX foam blend, the shoe is equipped with bouncy Zoom Air units at the heel and foot for extra give during long routes. “The Nike Pegasus 41 didn’t require any break-in at all; they were firm, but they felt like a brand new pair of sneakers that I’d already been running in. I was surprised at how durable the Air Zoom felt because it’s a soft feel, low feedback sneaker,” Sabino expressed.

Reflecting on a day spent on the track, the runners shared their outlook on their practices and how being a part of the NYC running community has uplifted them. “Generally, running makes me feel alive. I’m inclined to engage with my emotions and feelings in a healthy manner. Running incessantly reminds me of how I’m feeling and shows me who I am. It helps me remember to call my mother. I think more people should go on a run with their friends and see what happens,” said Sabino.

“The running community in NYC is booming right now. Crews are forming left and right. I love the social aspect of being surrounded by like-minded, mostly sweaty friends. We push each other to be stronger and faster,” Chavez added.

The Nike Pegasus 41 is now available on the Nike website for $140 USD.
