Nike hosted another SNKRS Showcase livestream last week, giving us an early look at some new and retro styles coming in 2025. Among them was the Gato trainer, which already is releasing in a “Pine Green” colorway in January.
In 2010, Nike introduced the Gato, an indoor soccer shoe. The model’s low profile and excellent performance capabilities made them popular on the field, and its intricate paneling made them readily accessible as a lifestyle model. The silhouette has made occasional appearances since its debut, though its 2018 Supreme collaboration stands above the rest. Now, the Swoosh is bringing back the Gato for a proper retro release in 2025.
The Gato’s return was announced just last week, and already Nike has teed up their first release of the indoor trainer. Scheduled to arrive in early January, the first pair comes in a lush “Pine Green” color scheme. The mesh and suede portions of the upper come in green, with white Swooshes and midsoles to break up the color. Finally, gum outsoles complete the look.
