Ja Morant and Nike have dropped a new sneaker. The Nike Ja 3 is Morant’s third signature shoe with the Swoosh, featuring an all-new design.
Expanding the Ja line with the third shoe, the Ja 3 features a different textual upper pattern that includes an expanded monogram of Ja’s signature logo. Constructed with lightweight mesh upper, for added breathability and seamless transitioning into a rubber cupsole with a vertical scratch design, this particular “scratch” serves a practical purpose. It cuts away layers, opening up the upper for more ventilation in the upper mesh. The rubber logos are still seen on the outsole, with the all-new bulldog micro traction, a nod to Ja’s signature bulldog crossover on the courts. The shoe sits atop a translucent rubber cupsole, giving a look into the midsole which is a composite comprised of full length ZoomX foam layered over ZoomX scrap providing responsiveness and comfort for all levels of explosiveness.
Ja Morant said of his new shoe, ” told the Nike design team I needed something that talks before I even lace it up. I wanted my third signature shoe to feel like my game and my personality. I told them, ‘Don’t be scared. Push it. Make it rugged, make it different.’ And they ran with it.” He added, “I’m reading the game way better now — slowing it down when I need to, attacking when I see the opening. The Ja 3 matches that. It’s got that balance: Speed when I need it, control when I need to switch gears.” On the feeling of wearing the Ja 3s, Morant said, “When you put on the Ja 3, I want you to feel fearless. Like you can go create your own story — on the court, off it. Just be you, loud and proud. That’s what I’m about. No limits, no second guessing. Just go.”
Moran debuted the Ja 3 “Max Volume” during game 1 of the NBA Playoffs between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Ja 3s are expected to be available starting this fall.
