Kiko Kostadinov is back with another Asics project this season, though this time its through his art & fashion imprint Otto 958. The new collaboration reworks the recent Protoblast sneaker with a whole new upper, coming soon.
Otto 958 is a partnership between Kiko Kostadinov, the Bulgarian-born, London-based designer, and Moran Moran, a Los Angeles art gallery. The two are blending their worlds together, producing an impressive array of apparel and accessories, including collaborations with Suicoke and Asics. This month, they have teamed up with Asics again, to deliver a new take on a recent sportstyle silhouette.
The Asics Protoblast is the subject of the latest collaboration from Otto 958. The silhouette was launched back in 2022 in collaboration with Kiko Kostadinov, and presented an aggressive-looking new lifestyle runner. For the latest release, the shoe’s techy upper has been entirely reworked, featuring a more minimal design and constructed in mesh and leather. Pitted in a black and green color scheme, the toes feature the brand’s signature double-O branding.
