Brooklyn-based outdoor gear store Outlandish and HOKA have teamed up for a new Trailish initiative, a partnership created to provide New York City’s vast running community with access to the state’s multitude of running trails.
Building on Outlandish’s hiking-centric Hikeish partnership with Salomon, Trailish will host monthly trail runs through the Hudson Valley and greater Tri-State area, giving Big Apple runners accustomed to pounding the pavement an opportunity to take their runs off-road — and to take advantage of the fact that New York State boasts over 60% forest coverage as a whole. “New York is the greatest city in the world, but access to nature is our Achilles heel,” says Benje Williams, a co-founder of Outlandish. “Hopefully, Trailish can help close the loop.”
Trailish will provide transportation to and from Outlandish’s store in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and each run will be both planned and led by state-licensed guides who are supported by drivers and pacers. All runs will also offer participants a chance to test out HOKA’s latest trail running footwear like the Mafate Speed 4, meaning that they won’t have to buy new gear to be a part of the experience.
The first Trailish run is scheduled for March 9th at Rockefeller State Park. Head to the Trailish home page for more information and to register.
