It’s only fitting Vans to contribute to Go Skateboarding Day in some capacity – and it makes even more sense that the legacy Ollie outfitter is enlisting Parra to assist. Known for its abstract and playful designs, the Amsterdam-based label joins forces with Vans’ OTW by Vans to serve up a commemorative Half Cab in homage to this year’s World Skateboarding Day.
The aforementioned unofficial holiday (Friday, June 21) also coincides with this year’s World Music Day – what Parisians refer to as Fête de la musique – which further informs the sneaker’s striking design.
Engulfed in hues of red, blue and white, the sneaker evokes the hues of the French flag and is further elevated with lifted wavy, suede detailing. A white box logo – complete with a bird graphic – is stamped on the upper, as well as on the tongue, and clean white outsoles and laces round it all out.
The sneaker also comes housed in a special-edition box, decked out in wavy lines similar to the suede on the silhouette.

While an official release date has yet to be confirmed, the commemorative kicks are expected to drop soon, with Go Skateboarding Day in the recent rearview.
