The ASICS GEL-NYC splashed onto the scene in early 2023 as a combination of the GEL-Nimbus 3, GEL-MC Plus V and GEL-Cumulus 16. As it continues to play a key role in the brand’s lifestyle offerings, ASICS has just revealed the GEL-NYC 2055.
Starting with the same GEL-Cumulus 16 sole unit as its predecessor, offering GEL cushioning from the wearer’s toes to their heel, the upper of the GEL-NYC 2055 combines elements from the GT-2050 and GT-2060, resulting in the “2055” portion of the name. Debuting in a familiar “Cream” and “Steeple Grey” arrangement, it draws inspiration from the streets of New York City with its off-white and grey detailing. As for its material composition, mesh, leather and nubuck all play a key role across the layered upper, offering ample texture throughout.
Release for the ASICS GEL-NYC 2055 is set to begin with the release of this “Cream” colorway going down on July 19 via select retailers at a starting price of $130 USD. From there, many additional looks are set to arrive in the months to come.
