Touted by the brand as a live-performance shoe, the ASICS-ONE was first teased on Instagram by ONE OK ROCK’s frontman, Taka. As the acclaimed rock band began their 2024 Premonition World Tour, Taka has been sporting the unreleased shoes on stage for all shows so far.
Do-developed by the singer and ASICS’s Institute of Sport Science in Japan, the ASICS-ONE sports an eye-catching slip-on design in an all-black makeover. Composed of a blend of synthetic leather, fibers and resins, the shoe exudes a neoprene-like quality and sits atop a rubber outsole, which boasts a chunky and wavy silhouette.
The shoes were designed specifically with Taka’s movement patterns in mind. After undergoing a series of digital analyses of the singer’s live performances, ASICS has created and intergrated technology that stabilizes the wearer’s body, balance and control.
ONE OK ROCK is known for its incredibly dynamic and high-energy live shows, with Taka often sprinting and leaping across the stage while performing. Many fans and concertgoers have also commented on the band’s Instagram post, attesting the shoe’s performance. One netizen’s comment reads “Just so you all know, shoes survived the pouring rain in Kaohsiung, and he jumped, and ran, without slipping at all.”
The ASICS-ONE is set to release on September 27 and will only be available via the brand in select regions.
