Nike’s Air Superfly retro made its debut earlier this year, its first return to shelves ever since its debut in 2001. This week, we have an early look at a new “Ale Brown” style of the racing shoe, coming this Summer.
Nike has spent the last few years revamping some iconic silhouettes from their history. However, they have also revived a number of somewhat forgotten models, particularly experimental running shoes from the late ’90s and early ’00s. The Air Max Sunder is one of these shoes that have seen plenty of success, and now they are ready to give the Air Superfly a shot.
The Air Superfly was originally built as an ultralight performance running shoe. Now, two-and-a-half decades later, the model is back in Nike’s rotation, this time as a lifestyle model. As fashion trends swing back from ‘dad’ shoes and back towards sleek, streamlined models, the Superfly is the perfect response from Nike. The shoe’s latest colorway gives it a colorful mix of shades, beginning with its Ale Brown leather upper. This is paired with a soft Sesame brown for the tongue and toe panels, while a vivid green sole and red Swooshes complete the look.
