adidas has remixed the Superstar in countless ways since introducing the beloved silhouette in 1970. One such take on the shelltoe sneaker a Roller Skate version of the shoe — the adidas Superstar 82 Skate. We previewed the revamped design at the end of last year and now The Whitaker Group has teamed up with the Three Stripes to not only celebrate it with a skating event, but launch a special colorway for local skaters and community members.
Looking closer at the special pair, it features the same high top upper in leather, pairing it with a front brake and branded wheels. It flips the “Black/White” pair — one of the two in-line launches pictured in the campaign — replacing the white stripes with a glow-in-the-dark green that matches the tongue branding. Rounding out the lineup is a “Silver” edition that features a metallic silver crackled leather at its base.
The Whitaker Group and adidas are hosting a special launch event at Cascade Atlanta Skate Rink on April 27. This will involve skate showcases, DJ sets, and additional community programming. Further information regarding access to the event will be shared by the Whitaker Group this week. Pairs of the adidas Superstar 82 Skate “Black/White” and “Silver” will also be available for pick-up there for those who complete an online purchase, arriving in half sizes only at a starting price of $200 USD.
