Welcome back to another week where we highlight the Top 10 Stories Of The Week From The Kicks On Fire Instagram. This feature focuses on the top/most read stories of the week as chosen by you, our readers/supporters. The way it works is we post a picture about current sneaker news or an upcoming release on our Instagram account and many times we advise you to “click the link in our bio.” The main goal for that is so we can direct you to a certain piece of news on the site that we feel is important or breaking. It’s a quick way for us to connect you to the site in the click (or touch) of a button.

Coming off of a week that was dominated by Kobe Bryant’s retirement, the sneaker news for this week was a lot more diverse. We found out that another Multicolor Flyknit Racer will be releasing next month that may or may not come with a grey tongue. Jordan Brand also surprised us by changing the release date of the Air Jordan 10 NYC (again) and unveiling a special collection for the ladies that will begin releasing next month. A couple of collaborations also made headlines from two unexpected brands. Let’s see what the talk of the town was this week when it comes to sneakers.

Burn Rubber And Reebok Salute Notorious B.I.G.

Burn Rubber
Burn Rubber

Burn Rubber out of Detroit and Reebok have joined forces to release a special collaboration that pays homage to Notorious B.I.G. With what would have been Biggie’s 46th birthday coming up on May 21st, Burn Rubber dressed up the Reebok Phase 1 with a pink upper composed of suede and alligator-embossed leather as an homage to the ”Stink Pink Gators my Detroit players” line from his song Hypnotize. Are you feeling this tribute for one of rap music’s greatest?

Nike And UNDFTD Finally Release The Dunk Lux

UNDFTD x Nike Dunk 1

After getting our first look at this sneaker months ago, Nike and UNDFTD finally released their Dunk Lux this week. Details include a White leather upper with Black and Infrared accents inspired by the Air Max 90. “1985” and “NIKE” branding have been added on the side panels to represent the debut of the Nike Dunk. Who was able to cop a pair this week?

The Air Jordan 9 Gets Turned Into A Golf Cleat

After Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 6 Low Golf Cleat last year it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see them convert yet another Air Jordan retro into a golf shoe. The only problem with JB turning their retros into golf cleats is the fact that they come with a premium price tag of $225. If you’re interested in picking up a pair of the Air Jordan 9 Low Golf Cleat both of them are still available on the Nike website in virtually every size.

Another Multicolor Nike Flyknit Racer Is Headed Our Way

Nike Flyknit Racer

Right now we know that another multicolor colorway of the popular Nike Flyknit Racer will be arriving at retailers on May 13th. What we don’t know is exactly what it’ll look like. We’ve seen a couple of different pairs, one that features a grey tongue and another with a black tongue. So which one is it gonna be Nike? I don’t really care whether the tongue is black or grey, I just hope I can get myself a pair this time around.

Two Diadora N9000s To Celebrate The Summer Olympics

North Carolina-based boutique Social Status and Italian sportswear company Diadora have collaborated to release two shiny colorways of the popular N9000 silhouette. Both have been designed to resemble silver and gold medals in honor of the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics that will be taking place in Rio. The highlights of both pairs are undoubtedly the suede toes and the silver/gold detailing on the side panels. Both pairs drop on April 30th at Social Status in-store and online, will you cop?

The All-White Nike Air Huarache Returns For The Spring

Spring is back once again and so is the all-white Nike Air Huarache. The difference between the all-white pair from last year and this year’s is that the 2016 version features a leather upper with a scaled texture overlay. Are you a fan of the minor changes made on this pair or do you prefer the neoprene pair?

Look For The Air Jordan 10 NYC Next Week

Jordan Brand has now changed the release date for the Air Jordan 10 NYC two times in two weeks. This all-black Air Jordan 10 with gold hits is now scheduled to release on April 27th which is next Wednesday. Strange I know, to see a retro release in the middle of the week. Do you agree with people calling these the poor man’s OVOs?

Jordan Brand Unveils The Heiress Collection

Jordan Brand unveiled something MAJOR for the ladies this week. The Jordan Brand Heiress Collection features four different silhouettes all which are dressed in Pearl uppers with black accents and gold detailing to provide that perfect pop. I know for a fact that lots of guys will be going after the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 10 from this collection.

The Crying Michael Jordan Meme Lands On An Actual Air Jordan

Air Jordan 8 3

So yeah, this actually happened. The Michael Jordan crying meme that has been making its rounds on the internet for quite some time now was finally placed on a shoe. Designed by Sherman Winfield and Andrew Weiss, the two took the Air Jordan 8 Playoffs and switched out the traditional furry Jumpman tongue patch and replaced it with a patch of the MJ crying meme. The insoles also feature the same hilarious image. Would you actually wear these?

Woven Details Land On The Nike Air Max 90

I’m just as surprised as you are to see this land as the top story of the week. The Nike Air Max 90 has received a makeover for the Spring of 2016 by being hit with woven detailing on the mudguard. A big part of why people are excited about this release is because of the Vachetta Tan colorway that you see above. This is probably the most popular colorway at the moment and this Air Max 90 shows us why.
