Golden State Warriors star and all-around powerhouse Stephen Curry was named the NBA’s MVP for the second year running and by unanimous decision for the first time in league history — surprisingly literally no one. Perhaps none were surprised less than Curry’s footwear sponsor, Under Armour, who commemorated their flagship athlete’s second straight distinction with a limited-edition “Back 2 Back” pack consisting of two pairs of Curry’s signature sneakers — the Curry One and Curry Two — celebrating Chef Curry’s achievements over the past two seasons.
The Curry One comes with patented Charged Cushioning, which helps absorb impact; an AnaFoam upper; a herringbone outsole for improved court feel and grip. Meanwhile, the Curry Two features a SpeedForm tech upper which molds to the wearer’s foot and a Charged midsole. Both pairs are predominantly black and gold, while the 2015-2016 Curry Two features white on the toe-box. Both pairs feature lists of Curry’s guiding ideas — FAITH, PASSION, MINDFULNESS, et cetera — sewn into the inside of the tongues. The pack comes in a sleek commemorative box, to boot.
The pre-orders sold out nearly instantly, but the pack drops May 24, according to UA’s Twitter.
