It’s rare to see one of Nike‘s collaborative projects actually used in pro sports, however, that all changed when US sprinter Allyson Felix rocked an exclusive pair of Nike Gyakusou Zoom Superfly Flyknits for her Olympic Trial runs. A longstanding partnership between the Swoosh and Jun Takahashi, Gyakusou has produced very hyped products that often sell-out for the lifestyle market. However, the inspiration behind the entire line was founded on Takahashi’s love for running, and Gyakusou’s presence in the Olympic Trials solidifies that fact. Nike created two exclusive Gyakusou runners for the sprinter — one in black and gold and another in white and blue. The Zoom Superfly Flyknit silhouette was unveiled during Nike’s 2016 innovation summit, and was made specifically for the 200 and 400 m sprints. Felix had contributed athlete insights for the design of the shoe.
